❤️ Why You’ll Love This Recipe! Steak Night Made Easy! Using the air fryer for the steaks makes dinner incredibly quick and easy! Perfectly Cooked! The circulating heat of the air fryer gives these steaks an amazing reverse sear! So Quick! You can have these steaks on the table, served with your favorites in just about 20 minutes! 🥘 Ingredients I’m using filet mignon for this recipe, but you can use any cut of steak and cook it the same way! I recommend using smaller cuts like the filet, however, because they will cook more evenly in your air fryer basket. 1 pound Filet Mignon – This is equivalent to 2 8-ounce portions of filet mignon.Seasoning – To season these filets, we’ll use a simple mix of 2 teaspoons of salt and ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Use my steak seasoning if you want a bit more flavor, but the simple salt and pepper combo lets your filet flavor shine!1 tablespoon Butter – Divide your butter into 2 ½-tablespoon portions, for topping the filet before it rests.(optional) Bacon - 2 thin slices to wrap around your filet. 🔪 Step-By-Step Instructions I recommend using a digital meat thermometer to temp these air fryer filet mignon steaks! It’s the easiest way to ensure that your filet is cooked to your perfect temperature. Prepare. Start by making sure your filet comes to room temperature for about 30 minutes on your counter before cooking. This will ensure the steak cooks evenly throughout. Then, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (205°C).Season filets. Next, trim any connective tissue from the outside of your steak, then pat dry with paper towels. After the steak is completely patted dry, season generously with 2 teaspoons of salt and ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper on all sides.Cook. Once you’ve seasoned the steak, place the filet mignons into your air fryer basket, making sure they are in a single layer with space between them (See Note). Then, air fry for 11 to 13 minutes for medium rare, or until the steaks reach your desired internal temperature (See Note).Rest air fried steaks and serve. After the steaks reach your desired temperature, remove from your air fryer and transfer to a cutting board or plate. Then, top each filet with a ½ tablespoon portion of the butter. Tent a piece of foil loosely on top and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before serving. My easy air fryer filet mignon is amazing when served with my favorite steakhouse creamed spinach! Try serving with my Parmesan roasted mashed potatoes or my amazing Dauphinoise potatoes for one of the best dinners you’ll have all week! Enjoy! 💭 Angela’s Tips & Recipe Notes Wrap in bacon! If desired, wrap each seasoned filet in 1 to 2 strips of bacon per filet, then secure in place with a toothpick and air fry. Remove the toothpicks before serving. For filets that are about 1 ½-inches thick, the cooking times are as follows:Rare: 10 to 12 minutes, or 120°F (52°C)Medium-rare: 11 to 13 minutes, or 130°F (54°C)Medium: 12 to 14 minutes, or 140°F (63°C)Medium well: 13 to 15 minutes, or 150°F (66°C)Well-done: 14 to 16 minutes, or 160°F (71°C)Keep carryover cooking in mind! Steaks will continue to cook another 5°F while resting, which is often referred to as ‘carryover cooking.’ Be sure to cook your steaks accordingly, so they aren’t over done!
🥡 Storing & Reheating If you have leftovers, store the steak in your fridge, wrapped in foil or in an airtight container for up to 3 to 5 days! If desired, freeze leftover filet mignon! Wrap the steak well in plastic cling film, then transfer to a freezer storage bag and freeze for up to 3 months! Thaw in your fridge before reheating. Reheating Air Fryer Filet Mignon You can reheat these steaks in your air fryer too! Place the leftover steaks in your air fryer and cook at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are warmed to your satisfaction. 🥩 Great Sides For Steak Dinners!
