Yet another winter storm is set to take aim at part of the Mid-Atlantic and most of the Northeastern United States. With up to a foot of snow expected in some parts of the Northeast, airlines have already issued travel waivers for cities expected to receive the brunt of the storm.Winter Storm Scott, as some media outlets are calling it, is expected to bring snow and sleet to much of the Northeast starting early Monday morning. While the winter weather isn’t expected to stick around for long, major travel disruptions are expected throughout impacted areas. New York, Philadelphia and Boston are among the list of cities that are predicted to receive accumulating winter precipitation. Boston could receive up to a foot of snow by Monday evening while New York and Philadelphia can expect anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow. This is bad news for travelers taking to the skies (and the roads) at the start of the week. Major airports that could be impacted by the winter storm include New York City’s three airports (JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark), Philadelphia (PHL), and Boston-Logan (BOS). Smaller airports in surrounding areas should also expect travel disruptions Monday and possibly into Tuesday. In preparation for the inevitable weather-related flight disruptions, airlines have issued the following travel waivers.American AirlinesCitiesDates ImpactedMust Travel ByWaiver Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) Hartford, Connecticut (BDL) Islip, New York (ISP) Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) New Haven, Connecticut (HVN) New York Kennedy, New York (JFK) New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA) Newark, New Jersey (EWR) Providence, Rhode Island (PVD) White Plains / Westchester County, New York (HPN) Worcester, Massachusetts (ORH)
