Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers. This is the best deal we’ve seen to Japan in quite some time. Currently, you can book 1 or 2-stop flights on United from Boston to Osaka for just $460 round-trip. NYC is priced a bit higher at $610 round-trip, but that’s still a phenomenal deal. Osaka is a very short train ride away from Kyoto, but it’s also a fantastic destination in and of itself. It’s also just a 2.5-hour Shinkansen ride from Tokyo, so you can easily combine both cities in one trip. Note that you’d need to fly in and out of Osaka to get this fare, however.Airline: UnitedRoute: BOS and NYC to KIXCost: $460+ round-trip in economyDates: February 2016 through April 2016Booking Link: OrbitzPay With: American Express Premier Rewards Gold, Citi Prestige or Chase Sapphire PreferredHere are a few examples of what you can book:Boston (BOS) to Osaka, Japan (KIX) for $460 on United:Sign up for our daily newsletterEmail addressSign upI would like to subscribe to The Points Guy newsletters and special email promotions.
