All you have to do is pan-sear your ham steaks and then make the glaze (yes, it’s that easy)! You’ll need a large skillet, some tongs or a spatula, and your measuring spoons.

As written, this recipe is for 2 servings. However, you could easily cook a second 8-ounce ham steak and have enough glaze!

  • Brown. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook an 8-ounce ham steak for 3-4 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. Then, remove the ham from the skillet and drain any fat.Melt butter. In the same skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and then stir in 5 tablespoons of brown sugar.Dissolve the sugar. Return the browned ham to the skillet and cook until the brown sugar has dissolved (about 10 minutes), making sure to turn the ham often so it can be fully coated in the glaze.Serve. Remove the ham from the skillet and serve immediately.
