This is a super simple shopping list. There are no hard-to-find ingredients at all. In fact, you might already have some on hand!

  • Bacon - 3 strips of thick-cut bacon that has been diced. Of course, you can leave out the bacon if you want. However, you’ll need 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to saute your vegetables if you don’t use bacon.Onion - 1 cup of diced yellow onion.Garlic - 2 teaspoons of minced garlic.Smoked Sausage - 14 ounces of smoked sausage or kielbasa, cut into bite-size chunks.Butter - ¼ cup of butter.Potatoes - 2 pounds of russet potatoes that have been thoroughly washed and then diced.Green Beans - 1½ pounds of canned or frozen green beans.Cajun Seasoning - 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning. Try out my homemade blend or use your preferred brand.Garlic Powder - 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Pepper - ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper.Red Pepper Flakes - 1 pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.Beef Broth - ¼ cup of beef broth.

🔪 How To Make Green Bean Potato Sausage Casserole

This recipe is very easy to make, you just saute your vegetable and meat before combining everything and tossing it in the oven! Grab a Dutch oven (or casserole dish), a skillet, and a wooden spoon to get started.

This recipe will yield 6 filling servings.

  • Preheat. To begin, preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) and lightly grease a 2.5-quart casserole dish or a Dutch oven.Saute. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add your 3 strips of bacon and cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Add in the 1 cup of diced onion and 2 teaspoons of minced garlic and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.Season and add sausage. Once the onion is tender, add in the seasonings (1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon of pepper, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes). Stir to combine and then add the 14 ounces of smoked sausage and ¼ cup of butter and cook until the butter has melted and your sausage chunks are lightly seared.Assemble casserole. In your casserole dish or Dutch oven, add your 2 pounds of cubed potatoes and 1½ pounds of green beans. Top with the onion and sausage mixture and then stir gently to combine. Pour in the ¼ cup of beef broth.Bake. Cook, uncovered, in the preheated oven at 400°F (205°C) for 40 minutes.Serve. Once done, remove from the oven and serve immediately.
