  • Green Beans - 1 pound of green beans (washed and trimmed).Slivered Almonds - ⅓ cup slivered almonds (about 1 ½ ounces).Butter - 2 tablespoons of butter.Garlic - 2 teaspoons garlic (minced).Salt & Pepper - ½ teaspoon each, salt & pepper (to taste).

Green beans almondine are so easy to make, it only takes 20 minutes from start to finish! Grab a casserole dish, colander, and skillet to begin!

This recipe makes 4 servings. You may want to double or triple the recipe if you are making this for a holiday gathering!

  • Microwave. Place the 1 pound of green beans into a microwave-safe casserole dish and add enough water to cover the bottom of the dish. Microwave the dish on high power for 8-10 minutes, or until the green beans are almost tender.Drain. Drain the green beans in a colander and immediately rinse them with cold water in order to maintain the bright green color.Heat pan. Heat a medium-sized skillet over medium heat and then add the ⅓ cup of silvered almonds.Cook almonds. Cook the almonds until they begin to turn a golden-brown color, about 5 minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.Add butter. Remove the skillet from the heat and add in the 2 tablespoons of butter, stirring it until melted.Add ingredients. Place the pan back onto the heat and add in the minced 2 teaspoons of garlic, cooked green beans, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper.Stir mixture.
