Unity gain is a term used when establishing the balance between pieces of audio equipment. The idea is that input should equal output, level-wise. Audio that goes into a device at one level and comes out of that device at the same level is said to be at unity gain. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) that requires all U.S. aircraft with certain Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines to undergo further inspections. Tuesday night’s AD follows Boeing’s recommendation to all airlines to temporarily suspend Boeing 777 flights that use the same engine as involved in Saturday’s United Airlines flight 328 incident when the aircraft’s Number 2 engine failed in flight.“The FAA is taking this action as the result of a fan-blade failure that occurred Saturday on a Boeing 777-200 that had just departed from Denver International Airport,” the FAA said in its AD....

Hawaiian Airlines just announced it will be the first major airline to provide Starlink high-speed satellite broadband Wi-Fi internet to passengers. The service will be free to all customers flying on select transpacific flights beginning next year, with the installation implemented gradually.Hawaiian said the service will be offered on its Airbus A330 and A321 planes and its incoming, new Boeing 787-9s, but is not currently planned for its Boeing 717s used for inter-island flights....
