🥘 Ingredients The mini marshmallows are completely optional, but they make these candied yams extra sweet and gooey! They’re a fun addition and an easy way to get the kiddos to try yams.

Canned Yams - A 40-ounce can of yams. Butter - ¼  cup or ½ a stick.Light brown sugar - ¼ cup, packed.Molasses - 1 tablespoon.Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon.Ground Cloves - ⅛ teaspoon of ground cloves or allspice. Salt - 1 pinch (roughly 1/16th of a teaspoon).Mini Marshmallows (optional) - 1 ½ cups. Grab your crockpot or slow cooker, a knife, and a small microwave-safe bowl for melting butter.

Prep. Open your 40-ounce can of yams and drain out the liquid. Cut any large yams into smaller pieces, if desired. Melt your butter (the easiest way is in the microwave in short 20-second increments).Combine. Follow the recipe as directed, but cook on high for 4 hours.Storing: In an airtight container or freezer bag, leftover candied yams will last for 4-5 days in the fridge or up to 6 months in the freezer. Reheating: Reheat single servings in the microwave. Large amounts can be reheated in a baking dish in the oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.

Easy Crockpot Candied Yams

Candied yams are hands down one of my favorite holiday side dishes. They are sweet, soft, and I can’t get enough of the gooey, melted marshmallows!

To make things even easier, I decided to try my hand at making this classic candied yams recipe in the slow cooker and they turned out delicious! Give it a try yourself and you will be wanting to make these yams all year long!

🥘 Ingredients

The mini marshmallows are completely optional, but they make these candied yams extra sweet and gooey! They’re a fun addition and an easy way to get the kiddos to try yams.

  • Canned Yams - A 40-ounce can of yams. Butter - ¼  cup or ½ a stick.Light brown sugar - ¼ cup, packed.Molasses - 1 tablespoon.Cinnamon - ½ teaspoon.Ground Cloves - ⅛ teaspoon of ground cloves or allspice. Salt - 1 pinch (roughly 1/16th of a teaspoon).Mini Marshmallows (optional) - 1 ½ cups.
